10/13/13 - Big frame, 6-foot-4, 215-pound two way player. On the mound delivery is tall and fall style, regular effort. Arm action is long and loose, ¾ arm slot. This is the best we've seen Rice on the mound as he showed the best fastball of the showcase sitting 86-87 mph touching 88 mph. Fastball featured excellent arm side run, lively action. Breaking ball ranged between 68-73 mph. Changeup showed good fading action, decelerated arm action, 74-77 mph. Offensively hits from the right side, open stance, short stride. Advanced bat speed, 91 mph exit velocity, produced whip, aggressive approach, swing showed extension. Defensively arm played at 84 mph, played through the baseball with a step behind.
6.13.13 - Advanced frame, 6-foot-4, 180-pounds, frame shows strength. Defensively played through the baseball, clean exchange. Ran 7.13 in the 60. Arm works from a high ¾ slot, shows carry, 84 mph arm from the outfield. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, above average bat speed, flat through the zone, 86 mph exit velocity.

4/29/13 - Currently ranked No. 53 in Illinois’ 2014 class. Extremely projectable 6-foot-4, 190-pound frame. Shows right-handed bat speed at plate; went 1-for-3 with RBI and walk in game.

10/21/12 - Rice is a physically impressive 6-foot-4, 190-pound athlete who looks to be one of the most impressive right-handed hitters in the Class of 2014. Rice showcased a balanced approach with bat speed and considerable pull-side pop. The ball jumps of his bat with backspin and carry. He gets excellent extension after contact, and remains balanced and loose throughout. Rice also ran a 7.16 60, and showed athletic feet and fluid actions in the outfield. His throws were on line at 81 mph.
