Defensively, athletic actions behind the plate, clean and quick exchange, arm carries at times and is consistently around the bag, clocked at 78 mph. Pop times ranged between 2.06-2.19. Offensively, balanced setup, smooth load, short stride and finishes on his backside. Loose hands, rhythm in swing, line-drive approach and 87 mph exit velocity.
2.19.17 - 6-foot, 185-pound strong armed catcher. Advanced arm strength out of the chute for his age, carries well, typical short over the top catcher’s slot, quick release, accurate to the bag, 78 mph. Hands are soft, receives well, quick exchange, 2.01-2.11 pop times. Right-handed hitter, squared setup, short stride, loads hands up. Stays on backside, line drive gap to gap type approach, low effort. 88 mph exit velocity from the tee. 7.52 runner in the 60.
10.10.16 - 6-foot, 180-pound catcher, solid average build. Defensively showed advanced catch and throw skills, arm action is short and over the top, accurate arm to second, carried at 75 mph. Good actions behind the dish, quick clean transfer, hands showed softness. Pop times ranged 2.07-2.15. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, smooth loading action, short stride, good balance. Loose easy swing, fluid hitter, level path that goes gap to gap. 85 mph exit velocity from the tee. 7.65 runner in the 60.
7.20.16 - 5-foot-11, 180-pound right-handed hitting C/3B. At the plate hits from a balanced setup with a short stride and good balance. Gap to gap hitter with a long, uphill swing path. Showed strength thru contact with 85 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.78. Behind the plate has a short arm action from an over the top slot. Gains ground towards second base on throws. Popped 2.11-2.18 and threw 76 mph from the crouch. In the infield has slow actions with a short arm action. Threw 81 mph across the infield.
6.8.16 - 6-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitting C/RHP with a strong frame. Offensively hits from a balanced setup with a short leg lift stride and good balance. Gap to gap hitter with a short swing path and a fast bat. Showed strength thru contact with 84 mph exit velocity from a tee. Ran the 60 at 7.79. Defensively has a short arm action from an over the top arm slot. Throws showed carry with a long exchange. Popped 2.26-2.36 and threw 76 mph from the crouch. On the mound works from an over the top arm angle with a short, loose, quick arm action. Tall and fall, online delivery with smooth rhythm and an upright finish. Showed feel for three pitches with control of all three. Fastball has downhill tilt at 80-81 topping out at 83 mph. Curveball has 12-6 shape with tight rotation and late breaking action at 68-70 mph. Maintained arm speed on changeup with slight running action at 69-71 mph.
9/16/19: Three-pitch righty with 88-90 mph fastball, 76 slider and 79-80 mph changeup. Worked one quick and impressive inning against Wabash Valley during the Logger's second game on Saturday.
