6/09/23

St. Charles CC signee, currently ranked No. 115 overall in the Illinois' 2023 class. Strong, compact 5-foot-8, 182-pound left-handed hitter with strength throughout. Started in right field and hit cleanup for the Tigers. Advanced all-around at the plate; consistently puts together competitive at-bats with minimal swing-and-miss to his game. Has bat speed and bat strength from the left side, works direct and on top of the baseball with a knack for finding the barrel. Comfortable using the whole field, barreled a double into the opposite field gap in this look. Looks the part of a true impact bat at the next level.

4/04/23

St. Charles CC commit. Strong, physical, compact frame. Batted cleanup and started in right field for the Tigers. Brings a certain presence to him at the plate, balanced throughout with a clean, controlled load. Fast left-handed swing works direct to the baseball, covers the plate with little swing and miss and comfortably works on the barrel. Doubled to the left-center gap to start things off in this look, also had a sacrifice fly later on in the game. Has been one of the more productive left-handed hitters in Illinois thus far into the season, currently slashing .452/.541/.548 with a team high 17 RBIs and six stolen bases.

3/18/22

Uncommitted, left-handed hitting outfielder, currently ranked in the top-150 in the class. Compact, strong, 5-foot-8, 180-pound frame. Hit in the five-hole and played right-field. Had a big offensive day with a number of key hits throughout. Finished 3-for-4 with a triple and one run scored. Open setup, strong, quick hands and the ball jumps off the barrel with minimal effort. Lined a triple into the right-center field gap that cut through the wind and rolled all the way to the wall. Also, an above-average runner.

4/17/21

Uncommitted sophomore, emerged over the course of the day as a follow left-handed hitter in the 2023 class. Finished game two of the day 2-for-3 with a home run, triple, four RBIs and a run scored. Starts in an open relaxed setup, fluid rhythm and quiet overall approach. Stays within himself, controls the barrel and features easy bat strength, especially for his age. Lined his triple into the left-center field gap and turned on his home run which ended up leaving the yard to right-center field. Copeland also went 1-for-1 with two RBIs and a run scored in game one of the day. Look for the sophomore to continue to bolster an already impressive lineup for Edwardsville.
