2/14/16 - 6-foot-2, 205-pound catcher, physical build with strength, durable receiver. Defensively showed softer hands receiving the baseball, quiet receiver. 2.00-2.05 pop times out of the crouch. Arm played short and over the top, carried at 78 mph, flashed accuracy. Right-handed hitter, strong bat, path works uphill looks to lift with power, occasional pull side tendencies. 84 mph exit velocity from the tee. 7.16 runner in the 60, above average runner for his position.
7/14/14 - Physically advanced 6-foot-2, 190-pound catcher. Proportional strength, defined lower half and strong shoulders. Looks to be one of the top 2017 prospects in Illinois’ 2017 class. Showed extremely well across the board at the 2017 Top Prospect Games, and plays the game hard and with energy. Defensively, has athletic feet and quick release with well above-average arm strength (75 mph), which resulted in pop times ranging between 1.97-2.04, all on the bag. Arm translated in gameplay, too; threw two runners out in a game. Demonstrated advanced blocking abilities; was the starting catcher for Lincoln-Way North as a freshman. Offensively, hits from a slightly open setup, has aggressive yet relaxed approach. Has long stride but keeps hands back well; showed ability to drive the ball to the opposite field. Barreled several balls during game play, including one that was right at the left fielder. Athletically, moves extremely well for his size; ran a 4.45 home-to-first time. Overall, if Post continues to develop, he should be one ofthe more highly recruited prospects in the 2017 class.
5/17/14 - High follow prospect in the class of 2017. Handled Bass/higher velocity extremely well. Physcially, at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds does not look like a freshman. Supposedly a top level linebacker in football, shows toughness behind home plate, working to block pitches. Pop times varied between 2.06 and 2.19 between innings, refreshing that he works between innings and throws down to second aggressively, which isn’t always the case with high school catchers. No steals attempted in game. Hits from a square stance, patient opposite field approach. Flew out to right field in first at bat, walked, grounded out to first, and then lined sharply to left field in last at bat. Jammed in early a few times, but impressed turning around a fastball later in the game.
