Wiry and loose, the left-handed Lietz has been earning varsity wins since his sophomore year. Lietz, who features a mid-80s fastball and a solid curveball, emerged as a big-game pitcher last spring for the Vikings, when he finished with a 7-1 record and a 1.63 ERA. In 46 innings, he struck out 61.
