The left-hander was nearly perfect in his senior year, finishing with a 12-1 record. His only loss came in the Class 2A supersectional.  He racked up 120 strikeouts and 41 walks in 73 innings, and finished with a 0.77 ERA. Also hit .405 with 22 RBI. Signed at Wright State

 
Relatively unknown heading into the spring, Trapino opened plenty of eyes during the season by posting a 9-2 record and a 1.81 ERA for the Rockets. The left-hander has feel for four pitches, including a big curveball and low-to-mid-80s fastball. In 73.2 innings pitched, he racked up an amazing 114 strikeouts and 40 walks.
