5/30/24
Missouri signee. Although the Kahoks lost, Bagwell had a highly dominant game on the mound against Edwardsville. He tossed six innings on the mound, struck out 13, zero walks, one earned run, and only two hits allowed.
5/22/24

Mizzou signee and one of the top prospects in the state’s graduating senior class. Professional look, built at a highly physical 6-foot-4, 225-pounds with strength throughout. Turned in a stellar start in his final career start for the Kahoks, allowing a run on two hits over six innings of work with 13 strikeouts and zero walks. Fastball sat 94-96 mph in the first, held 92-94 mph in the second, and settled into the low-90s. Easy jump out the hand, showed true carry and life at the top of the zone with the ability to be a swing-and-miss pitch at the professional level when spotted in that quadrant of the strike zone. Relied mostly on the fastball, but did mix in a handful of sliders that ranged at 77-81 mph and flashed sharp tilt, especially early in his outing. Finished his senior year with 90 strikeouts to 20 walks and a 1.59 ERA over 48 ⅓ innings of work. Continues to be a name to watch for the MLB Draft this upcoming July.

4/16/24

Mizzou signee, ranked No. 10 overall in the state’s senior class and No. 152 nationally. Highly physical and professional 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame that’s packed with muscle throughout. Punched out six and allowed an earned run on three hits for the Kahoks in five innings of work. Works only out of the stretch, lead leg lifts inward into a hip coil to start his movement downhill. Gets onto his backside and rides it down the mound, glove arm tucks and finishes onto his front heel through release. Quick arm that’s continuous on the backside, finishes out of a ¾ slot. Fastball pitched in the low-90s, touching 93 mph early, and touched 92 mph in the fifth near the end of his outing. Cut it at times, best when he stays behind and backspins it up in the zone. Slider showed out-pitch potential in this look; flashed sweep and bite at times at 77-80 mph that grabbed several uncomfortable swings-and-misses against a good lineup. A strong-armed, physical senior that’s garnered MLB Draft attention throughout the spring.

3/16/24

Missouri signee, and currently ranked No. 10 in the state, Bagwell has a physically impressive look about him in the box at 6-foot-4, 225-pounds. A right-handed hitter, he showed the ability to be on the barrel with authority at times, going 2-for-4 with a double that he hit in his final at-bat that nearly left the yard in left-center.

3/14/24

Mizzou signee and ranked No. 10 overall in the state’s current senior class. Highly physical 6-foot-4, 225-pound frame packed with muscle mass throughout. Started for the Kahoks in a win, punching out seven with one walk over four scoreless innings. Works exclusively out of the stretch. Stays connected to the rubber and rides his backside downhill to front footstrike. Efficient in-line mover, athletic finish with less effort than we’ve seen in the past. Simple all-around operation, repeats. Continuous arm path with some length on the backside, finished out of a ¾ window. Fastball touched 97 mph, sat 95-96 mph in the first. Pitched at 92-95 mph as his outing went on, did touch 95 in the third and 94 in the fourth. Average control, spotted for strikes down in the zone, cuts it at times. Did throw a few with life and backspin up in the zone. Spun his first sliders of the outing in the fourth inning, 80-81 mph, tight spin. Showed more feel for a sinking changeup than we’d seen in the past at 86-88 mph, threw it to left-handed hitters. A budding MLB Draft follow in the Illinois’ 2024 class.

4/19/23

Missouri commit, ranked No. 20 overall in the Illinois’ 2024 class. Large, highly physical 6-foot-2, 230-pound frame with broad sturdy shoulders and noticeable lower half strength. Toed the rubber in a start for the Kahoks against Edwardsviille. Quick worker, drop/drive delivery, stays connected to his backside through footstrike, strides across body. Short arm action, ¾ slot. Fastball touched 91 in the second, sat 87-90 mph throughout, backspun it when he stayed behind the baseball, and did cut it at times. Turned to a tight slider often that flashed swing-and-miss spin at 79-80 mph towards the glove-side of the plate, developing consistency.

7/06/22

Bagwell turned in one of the weekend’s most dominant outings, punching out 15 batters in 6 â…” scoreless innings for Extreme Elite National. The Mizzou commit boasts a physical 6-foot-2, 230-pound frame with durability and uses his size to generate power down the mound, sitting at 86-89 mph with a 90 mph high in this look. Bagwell turned to a 74-76 mph slider as his primary secondary pitch, spinning it with confidence and conviction throughout his outing. He landed it for strikes at ease and he also occasionally spotted it out of the zone for whiffs, too. Bagwell faded a low-80s changeup sparingly throughout his outing - a pitch that’s improved since we last saw him in the high school season.

3/16/22

Missouri commit. 6-foot-2, 230-pound, broad-chested, durable, work-horse type frame. Came out of the bullpen for one inning and hit in the middle of the order. Drop and drive delivery, lands square. Short, compact arm action plays from a ¾ to high ¾ slot. Slider was a separator; showed advanced feel, matches his slot, and worked tight on a 10/4 plane with 2400+ rpm. Landed for strikes consistently and went to as a chase pitch off the corner as well. Fastball showed spottier control, worked mostly straight, occasional cut to the glove side, sat 86-88 mph for his one inning of work. Struck out two and did not allow a run in his outing. Right-handed hitter, flashed advanced bat speed and a knack for hard contact. Finished 1-for-3 with a double, two RBI's and a run scored.

10/07/21

Verbally committed to Missouri State.
