5.26.18 - Purdue commit. 6-foot-1, 175-pound, left-handed pitcher, lean and slender with some room to fill. Slight drop and drive style delivery, stays closed. Arm action plays out of a high ¾ slot, regular draw and quick through release. Poised and ultra confident mound presence, trusts stuff and shows ability to add and subtract while saving his tank for the later innings, finished striking out four of last nine outs. Fastball played 84-85 mph early on, reaching for 88-89 mph with two strikes. Velo continued to improve through outing, after giving up a solo HR in 5th he worked 85-89 mph the rest of the way. Curveball played 1/7, 71-74 mph, good feel with ability to drop for strikes and expand for swing and miss. Changed played 74-76 mph, with plus swing and miss action for age.
6.26.17 - Verbally committed to Purdue.

6.5.17 - In an electric playoff atmosphere Kulak’s fastball reached 91 mph, sitting 88-90 mph for most of the contest, a few ticks better than his last outing we saw. Showed similar stuff in this outing, at one point retiring 12 in a row. See previous report for more. Kulak remains one of the top uncommitted 2018 prospects in the Midwest.

5.11.17 - Uncommitted left-handed pitcher. 6-foot-1, 168-pounds, wiry thin frame, young body type yet to mature, should fill out to carry additional strength. Delivery stays closed, slightly across body, hands get rhythm through rocker step, drop and drive out of balance point. Arm action is clean, loose and quick, high ¾ slot. Showed command of fastball at the bottom of the zone early in game, elevated it late in counts for swing a misses, sat 87-89 mph through five innings, still touched 88’s in sixth and seventh. Breaking balls range 73-78 mph, curveball plays at the bottom end of that velo, 1/7 action, drops for strikes, rarely expands with it. Slider plays more at 78 mph with slightly shorter lateral action. Showed feel for all secondary pitches. Flashed a changeup late in contest, 78 mph, late sinking action, fastball arm speed. Final line: 7IP, 0R, 3H, 8K, 1BB. Retired the first 15 batters of the game in order. Kulak’s command of the zone with multiple pitches and uptick in velocity makes him one of the more desirable uncommitted prospects in the region.

2.19.17 - 6-foot-1, 168-pound left-handed pitcher. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, quick arm action and wrap on the backside. Drop and drive delivery working in line with home plate. Fastball sat 84-86 topping out at 87 mph worked up in the zone. Curveball has 2-8 shape with short breaking action at 74-76 mph. Showed feel for his changeup while maintaining fastball arm speed with running action at 77-79 mph.

6-foot-2, 155-pound, lanky, left-handed pitcher. Long, quick arm action from a 3/4 to high 3/4 slot and can run his fastball into the mid 80's.
