7/21/16 - Verbally committed to Oakton CC.
2/14/16 - 6-foot-3, 180-pound right-handed pitcher, proportional lean body. Tall and fall delivery, full windup, works online, balanced finish. High ¾ arm slot, short quicker arm action. Fastball sat 83-85 mph, mostly straight. Curveball is 68 mph, worked uphill, occasionally underneath. Changeup played at 70-73 mph.
6/21/15 - 6-foot-2, 182-pound, right-handed pitcher. On the mound works from a ¾ arm slot with a short, quick arm action. Slight recoil at the end of delivery. Tall at balance point, drop and drive online delivery. Fastball sat 84-86 mph. Curveball sat 70-71 mph with 10-4 shape and some depth. Lacks command of fastball.

6/21/15 - 6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed pitcher, lean build. Works out of a full windup. Loose arm action, high ¾ slot, pitched with effort. Fastball sat mostly 83 mph, touched 84 mph. Flashed breaking ball with slider type action, 71-72 mph.

2/22/15- 6-foot-2, 180-pound lanky and athletic OF/IF/RHP currently impresses most on the mound, fastballs at 82-84 mph from short, quick, high ¾ arm slot, level shoulders throughout delivery, stride direction is in line with home plate, lands slightly closed, spins off heel. Curveball was thrown 61-64 mph, up in the zone, erratic for strikes. Better feel for strike zone with 70-72 mph changeup, thrown with fastball arm speed, occasional sinking action. Hits from a tall, open setup, short stride, above average bat speed, 85 mph exit velocity. Defensively, profiles more as an outfielder, but shows arm strength all over the diamond: 83 mph in the infield, 86 mph from the outfield. Would like to see Buckner just pitch at an event so he doesn’t wear himself out throughout the day, expect more velocity on the mound in his future. Ran 5.01 from home to first.
1.18.15 - 6-foot-2, 180-pound lanky and athletic RHP currently ranked No. 31 in Illinois’ 2017 class, works from a short, quick, high ¾ arm slot, tall/fall over head, full windup delivery, some rhythm, level shoulders throughout, stride direction in line with home plate, recoils on fastball, struggled to repeat delivery. Fastball sat 82-84 mph with late life through the zone. Slows arm on 60-64 mph curveball, flashed 12/6 shape. Also slowed arm on 65-70 mph changeup. Buckner is a prospect to follow in the 2017 class.
