RHP Kasten Goebbert (Providence Catholic, 2025) Portraying a long and athletic 6-foot-4, 180-pound display with room for added strength, Goebbert was dominant on the mound for the Sparks. The righty threw four perfect innings not allowing a hit or a walk while striking out six. On the mound, Goebbert is relaxed, fully extending his left leg on his stride stepping toward the right-handed batter’s box while throwing out of a high 3/4 arm slot. He throws an 84-87 mph fastball with 2200-2300 rpm. His fastball is complemented by a sharp 12-6 curveball thrown at 69-73 mph that hitters could not touch.

Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 120 in the state, standing at a trim 6-foot-3, 172-pounds. Goebbert got the start for the Celtics in the Championship game, and was strong from start to finish. He is an athletic mover down the mound with a simple operation down the mound. His arm works clean with apparent armspeed out front from a ¾ slot. His fastball sat 84-87 mph (T88) with some carry through the zone, strikes. He showed a sweeping-curveball in the low 70’s for occasional swing and miss, while also showing a 78-79 mph changeup at times. Goebbert did not light up the stat sheet from a strikeout perspective, but he was efficient throughout the game and pitched to contact, trusting the strong Providence Catholic defense behind him. A must-follow in the state’s incoming-senior class.

Uncommitted. Currently ranked No. 115 in Illinois’ junior class. Started on the mound for the Celtics. Stands in a wiry 6-foot-3, 172-pound frame with room for added strength. It was a brief, but quality look at Goebbert who finished with 1.2 innings pitched, two strikeouts, one walk, one run and no hits allowed. He works out of a stretch-only delivery with a high leg lift with some tuck, tall and fall delivery down the mound, foot lands slightly open at landing. Has a compact, uninterrupted arm path out of an over-the-top slot, clear acceleration out front. Fastball sat 84-86 mph, topping out at 87 mph with mostly straight actions, mixed in a curveball at 70-73 mph with 11/5 shape. A name-to-know in the state’s junior class.

RHP Kasten Goebbert (Providence Catholic, 2025) was an impressive arm from Monday. Currently ranked No. 112 in the state, Goebbert has a highly projectable 6-foot-3, 172-pound frame with plenty of room to add muscle in the coming years. Working exclusively out of the stretch, the right-hander is an efficient mover that works in-line, working with uphill shoulders down the mound while landing closed with an athletic finish. His arm plays with a short draw, remaining loose throughout its circle into a high ¾ slot. His fastball played with mostly straight action and tilt through the zone at 86-87 mph, topping out at 88 mph. He showed a knack to spin the breaking ball with some feel, playing with 11/5 shape at 71-73 mph. His final offering was a changeup at 81-83 mph, playing beneath the zone with intent and late arm-side sink.
