Yale commit. 6-foot-3, 165-pound, right-handed pitcher; long, lean build with plenty of room for continued physical development. Right-handed pitcher, simple tall and fall delivery, works with rhythm, short stride, on-line down the mound and lands front toe closed. Short, compact arm action, works loose, quick and easy out of a high ¾ slot. Fastball, comes out of his hand easy, occasional arm-side-run and finish through the zone, sat 85-87 mph, touched 88 multiple times in the first inning. Settled in anywhere from 84-87 mph. Mostly control over command of the fastball, will miss up in the zone. Features one of the better breaking balls in the class. Thrown aggressively, in any count, drops it in for strikes and can tighten it up with two strikes. Tight spin, depth, late bite at times, buckled a number of hitters and got plenty of swing-and-miss, 71-75 mph. Saw changeup only in warmups, fade action. Final Line: 4 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 10 K, BB.

5.15.18 - Uncommitted junior. Currently ranked No. 91 in the 2019 Illinois’ class. 6-foot-3, 165-pound, right-handed pitching prospect, long-limbed frame, plenty room for physical development. Walsh started the continuation game for Lyons Township going 3.2 IP against St. Laurence inheriting a runner on first and second with one-out the 6th frame. The Junior struckout the 1-2 part of a potent offense ending the frame and continued the trend averaging one K an inning. He painted the corners with his high 80’s two-seam fastball and dropped his sharp 11/5 breaker in the zone allowing two hits, walking none and fanning five. The fastball ran, significantly at times, some tilt down in the zone, ranged 85-88 mph, touched 89 once. Curveball was his clear-cut second best offering, maintained arm speed, showed above-average depth as the game progressed, 11/5 shape, 71-74 mph. Threw a true cutter in warm-ups, flashed it in game, late movement, 85 mph. Feel for three-pitch mix, present arm speed on all offerings, didn’t throw changeup in game but pulled the string with arm speed in warm-ups. Repeatable low effort delivery, works in line, closed toe landing, athletic finish out front. Clean, loose arm action, high ¾ slot, ball jumped out of the hand. Agile footwork, fielded his position well. High-follow 2019 RHP.

7.26.16 - 6-foot, 137-pound right-handed pitcher with a lanky frame. On the mound works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, quick arm action. Tall and fall, online delivery with a square landing and athletic finish. Slow paced delivery with good balance. 4-pitch mix, with feel for four. Fastball showed slight running action at 80-82 topping out at 83 mph for strikes. Curveball has 11-5 shape with sharp breaking action at 69-71 mph. Slider has more lateral action than curveball at 69-70 mph. Curveball has swing and miss ability in games Fastball arm speed on changeup at 76-77 mph. Worked out in the outfield as well. Arm plays in the outfield as well throwing 82 mph with a loose arm action. At the plate hits from a wide base with a toe tap stride and collapse on the backside. Uphill swing path. 80 mph exit velocity from a tee. 4.72 runner down the line.

6.8.16 - 6-foot, 140-pound right-handed pitcher with a thin, lanky frame. Works from a high ¾ arm angle with a short, quick arm action. Tall and fall, online delivery with an athletic finish. Slow paced delivery, long pause before coming to the plate. Fastball was firm at 80 topping out at 83 mph. Curveball has 11-5 shape at 65-68 mph. Slider has 10-4 shape with tight rotation and hard, late breaking action at 64-68 mph. Maintained arm speed on changeup with running action at 70-73 mph. Projects well.
