6/18/15 - Long athletic frame, sloped shoulders, 6-foot-4, 200-pound corner infielder. Right-handed hitter, balanced stance, short stride, stays balanced. Strong hitter, showed easy bat speed, pull pop type approach. 89 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively hands played soft, feet move well and plays through the baseball. Arm plays from a high ¾ slot, 76 mph across the diamond. Attributes can play at either corner infield spot. 7.42 runner.

2.15.15 - 6-foot-4, 205-pound athletically built 3B/RHP impressed with a plus round of batting practice at the Preseason All-State Showcase. Hits from an open setup, wide base, short leg kick stride, hands load back smoothly, short, slightly uphill bat path produced consistent hard contact, fluidity to swing, gets extension, drove the baseball from gap-to-gap with impressive power to his pull side, 92 mph exit velocity off the tee. Defensively, threw 78 mph across the diamond from short, high ¾ arm slot, average hands fielding the baseball. Ran a 7.42 60. On the mound, sat 80-82 mph from long, ¾ arm slot, over-head windup, tall-fall delivery, toe up at balance point, shoulders close off at balance point, level shoulders throughout delivery, works across his body, lands closed on front heel, spins off towards first base. Showed feel form 69-70 mph curveball with 11/5 shape and 72-74 mph changeup with arm side run. Ran a 7.42 60 yard dash. Owens power potential at the plate has showed up in games as well, and he’s one of the best power prospects in Illinois’ 2016 class.

1.19.14 - 6-foot-3, 180-pound third baseman. Advanced frame, athletic build, sloped shoulders, shows strength. Defensively shows smooth actions, plays easy, natural instincts. Arm plays loosely, slightly longer, high ¾ slot, shows carry, 81 mph across the infield. Offensively hits from a balanced stance, short stride. Bat path has whip, stays inside the baseball, uses more upper body than lower body. 86 mph exit velocity, has power potential, his bat has the ability to play at a high level. Owens is one of the top prospects in the state, high ceiling prospect.

10/27/13 - Advanced frame, highly projectable, athletic, 6-foot-3, 180-pound two-way prospect. Plays with an easy athleticism, one of the more highly touted prospects in the Class of 2016, high level prospect, high follow. Offensively hits from a slightly open stance, smooth loading action, short stride. Athletic swing, consistent hard contact, ball jumps off his bat, power potential. Advanced bat speed, 85 mph exit velocity from the tee, fluid rhythm, gap to gap approach, high level hitter. Defensively plays through the baseball, advanced infield actions, quick clean exchange, athletic body control, plays with ease. Arm action is short and loose, over the top, with accuracy and carry, 78 mph across the diamond. Projects well on the mound, delivery is easy, full windup, tall and fall. Arm action is loose, high ¾ slot. Fastball has slight sink, 84-85 mph touched 86 mph, showed the ability to command the zone. Curveball has advanced action and feel, 11/5 plane, 70-72 mph. Changeup has feel, slight fading action, 73-77 mph.

5/18/13 - Looks to be one of the premier prospects in Illinois’ 2016 class. Extremely projectable 6-foot-3, 180-pound frame with long limbs. Starting third baseman on state-ranked team, hits in 5-hole. Coach said he’s hitting over .400 for season. Possesses strong, accurate arm from third base and soft reliable hands. Made several plays on the move in doubleheader. Also had a two-run double and a run-scoring single in doubleheader. 4.62 H-1^st on 5-3 putout
