The buzz on Stroud and his fastball started to leak out of the corners of southeastern Illinois by mid spring. By late May, Stroud had become a hot commodity. Physically strong and athletic, Stroud’s fastball has registered in the upper-80s, and he also possesses a hard curveball that has the potential to be a plus pitch at the next level. Stroud is also a standout quarterback on the football team.
