5.13.15 - Illinois State recruit, currently ranked No. 17 in Illinois’ 2015 class and No. 184 overall. Solid 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame. Possesses top-level arm strength with plus carry, certainly one of the strongest pure catcher arms in the state. Accurate thrower, consistently delivers throws low gloveside on bag. With a more refined release, has the potential to deliver consistent sub-2 pop times. Offensively, he led off the third inning with a triple to right-center field. He also walked and flew out to right field.

4.6.15 - 6-foot-2, 190-pound, right-handed hitting catcher with a lanky, athletic build. Currently ranked No. 17 in the Illinois Class of 2015 Rankings. Committed to Illinois State. Possess some of the best raw arm strength in the state. Threw behind runner at second for pickoff, 2.15 pop. Plus arm strength and accuracy, makes up for slow release. Slight pause after transfer. Behind the plate starts from a high setup and sinks into squat as pitch is coming. At the plate hits from a wide base with a lower hand set. Short to the ball with extension and flashes good bat speed. Left game in 7th with a finger injury. Has the tools to stick at catcher, but arm projects on the mound as well.
2.24.15 - The biggest riser within our Top 20 is Hersey catcher Nick Zouras, an Illinois State commit. Zouras has impressed at multiple pro workouts this winter with plus arm strength behind the dish. He’s physical at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, shows power potential at the plate, and consistently registers sub 2.0 pop times. Most impressive is that he’s been clocked out of the crouch in the 87-88 mph range, astonishing in that the top Super 60 catching velocity was 83 mph.
