10.25.17 - Committed to Missouri State out of John A. Logan JC (IL).

5.17.17 - Transferred to John A. Logan JC.

4.14.16 - Oklahoma State recruit. Ranked No. 23 in the Illinois’ 2016 class, No. 298 overall. 6-foot-2, 185-pound, athletic, wiry, right-handed pitcher with an electric arm. Started on the mound for Edwardsville. Simple, smooth delivery with rhythm; works slightly across body, lands closed and finishes athletically. Short, quick arm action, ¾ slot, occasionally underneath the ball and lacks extension. Ball jumps out of his hand. Fastball sat 87-91 mph with life early, works mostly straight and up in the zone at times. Every fastball out of the windup in the second inning was 90 plus. Later on in the outing sat anywhere from 85-91 mph. Also, flashed a slider and changeup, tends to get underneath at times with average overall feel both. Slider works 10/4, sweeping action, tight spin, up in the zone some, 79-81 mph. Changeup flashed slight fade at times, 77-78 mph. Highly projectable right-handed pitcher with a high ceiling. Can improve the action and consistency of his secondary.

2.15.15 - 6-foot-2, 165-pound left-handed hitting two-way player, average build, has filled out more since last seeing him. Flashed arm strength on the mound, high ¾ slot, short draw. Fastball topped out at 89 mph, ranged 84-87 mph, arm side run. Curveball has gradual action, occasionally backs up, 65-71 mph. Changeup was kept mostly down, 78-81 mph. Offensively hits from the left side, balanced stance, smooth loading action. Short path, quick finish, sweeps some, right center approach. 91 mph exit velocity from the tee. Defensively also showed arm strength in the outfield, 89 mph arm, short high ¾ arm action. Ran a 7.21 in the 60.
1.19.14 - 5-foot-10, 150-pound left-handed hitting two way player. Has physically developed and showed significant gains since the last time we saw him. Defensively, showed soft hands, clean exchanges, and plays through the ball athletically. Arm works loose, from a ¾ slot with accuracy and carry at 78 mph. Ran a 7.65 60. At the plate he hits from a tall, narrow stance with a solid lower half and maintains excellent balance through contact. Swing has a flat path and solid pop. Exit velocity off the tee was 82 mph. On the mound his delivery has smooth rhythm and easy effort that allows him to repeat and have three pitch feel. Arm works short and quick from a high ¾ slot. Fastball was 79-81 mph, touching 83 mph, with run. Curveball has 11/5 shape with sharp breaking action at 67-70 mph, for strikes. Throws his changeup with fastball arm speed at 70-73 mph, with fading action and advanced feel.
7/23/13 - Left-handed hitting 5-foot-8, 135-pound two-way player who showed good presence on the mound. Riley has athletic rhythm in his delivery and arm works at a high ¾ slot. His fastball sat 77-80 mph with consistent run. Curveball has short 11/5 action at 67-68 mph and has control of both pitches. Riley displayed clean, athletic actions defensively, throwing 75 mph across the infield with short arm action. His hands work well at the plate, setting up in a tall, slightly open stance. Creates athletic pre-pitch rhythm leading to a smooth, easy swing with balance. Riley could fill out and develop into a high-level prospect.
6.19.13 - The 5-foot-8, 140-pound left-handed hitting outfielder, infielder, and right-handed pitcher is one of the more athletic and projectable players from the event as both a position player and pitcher.  On the mound, Riley has smooth rhythm in his delivery with balance – throws with loose arm action, releasing from a high ¾ slot.  Showed command for all three pitches.  Fastball showed run and sink sitting 79-80 mph out of the windup and 74-76 from the stretch.  Curveball had short, late 11/5 action ranging 65-68 mph.  Had feel for his changeup which showed above average fading action at 65-67 mph. Defensively showed natural instincts in the field. Athletically capable of playing the infield on the move.  Displayed soft hands with a quick, clean exchange, and short quick arm action. Arm played at 75 mph across the infield and 81 mph from the outfield. Offensively, hits from the left-side with an athletic and balanced setup and a short stride. Line-drive hitter who has a plan at the plate.  Has a clean, repeatable stroke and short bat path, maintaining balance throughout the swing. Recorded an exit velocity of 75 mph and ran a 7.75 60.
