6.28.16 - 6-foot-2, 215-pound prospect. Offensively, right handed hitter, slightly open setup, long stride, lands square, maintains balance throughout swing. Uphill bat path, power approach, fluid rhythm, has bat speed; exit velocity clocked at 88 mph. Defensively, took reps in the outfield and at first base. From the outfield, plays through the baseball, showed clean exchanges on throws. Short, loose arm action, over the top slot, flashed accurate throws; 81 mph from the outfield. In the infield, clocked at 73 mph across the diamond. Also, ran a 7.54 laser timed 60. 

2/15/16 - Shylanski is a 6-foot-2 210-pound right-handed hitting outfielder and first baseman in Illinois’ 2017 class.  He ran a 4.42 home-to-first and had an exit velo of 85 mph. At the plate, slightly open stance, in-line stride, linear move through contact, mostly line drives to middle of the field with power to pull gap.  In the outfield, 78 mph positonal velo, over the top release, crow hop, plays through catch, fluid footwork with clean transfer. On the infield, 73 mph positional velo, high three quarters release, quick footwork, arm works, accurate throws.

2/16/15 - Shylanski is a 6-foot-2 200-pound third baseman from Waterloo (IL), at the plate, narrow set up in feet, line drive approach, uses middle of field, 79 mph exit velo, 4.59 home-to-first, defensively, works thru the ball., over-the-top release, 68 mph positional velo. During outfield evaluations, 75 mph positional velo, quick catch and release, fluid exchange, over-the-top release, mostly accurate throws.
