Delivery: Slow-paced, deliberate, drop-and-drive delivery, works on-line and lands slightly closed.
Arm Action: RH. Long arm action, gets deep on the backside, comes out of an over-the-top slot with quickness out front.
FB: T85, 81-84 mph. Plays mostly straight with occasional cutting action.
CB: 66-69 mph. 11/5 shape.
CH: 72 mph. Plays straight.
Range is a long and lean 6-foot-3, 175-pound, right-handed hitting corner infielder in Illinois’ 2020 class. He ran a 4.47 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 91 mph. During hitting evaluations, Range starts in an athletic stance, quiet load, in line stride, aggressive swing, showed mostly pull contact with some lift during batting practice. Defensively, moves well for his size, fluid footwork, soft hands, short arm action, high three-quarter release, positional velo of 80 mph, very accurate throws.
