Was one of the top performers with the bat for Team Illinois, leading the event in hits with five as he finished 5-for-10 with three RBIs and two runs scored. The right-handed hitter has an intentful swing with length through the zone, peaking at 93 mph in the workout. Steady defender at both corner infield spots with sure-handed actions and a strong arm from third. On the mound, he has an intentful operation downhill with a shorter arm action in the back that hides it a bit before coming through from a high ¾ slot. The fastball played up to 83 mph, showing carry and collecting whiffs - paring with a curveball that played in the upper-60s.

One of the more physical prospects in attendance, listed at 6-foot-2, 202-pounds. Right-handed hitter, with an intentful and aggressive uphill swing that elevates to the pull-side, resulting in a 91.3 mph average exit velocity; T96 and 369’ max distance. On the mound he works with some effort but has a big arm, sitting 85-86 mph with carry through the zone. He features a four-pitch repertoire and also topped at 90 mph across the infield. Loud present tools for a 2029 prospect.

2025 Junior Future Games: RHP/CIF Leo Kelly (Loyola Academy, 2029) may have had the loudest showing on the mound of the week. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound right-hander got the start against Georgia and didn't disappoint. In four innings of work, Kelly allowed two hits and struck out one. Kelly’s fastball reached 84 mph, sitting 79-82 mph, the slider was in the low 70s, and a changeup in the mid to upper 70s. At the plate, Kelly was on the barrel throughout the tournament, finishing with a couple hits and loud out, including a double in the first game of bracket play. Kelly has the build and the tools to be a serious prospect, the velocity will continue to tick up and he will continue to be a tough at bat for hitters. A solid get for Loyola Academy.

INF/RHP Leo Kelly (Loyola, 2029) is already looking like one of the top players in the young Illinois 2029 group. He stands out physically at 6-foot-2, 190-pounds, and he has loud tools to pair across the board. He put on a show in BP with a peak EV of 93 mph, showing length through the zone with feel to lift. He caught a barrel in gameplay to finish 1-for-3 as well. On the mound, he fired a shutout inning with a strikeout, working his fastball up to 84 mph with all sorts of life through the zone. He also flashed a curveball and changeup to mix up the speeds.

Listed at a projectable 5-foot-11, 150-pounds, Kelly took a loud round of BP with strong hands and present bat-speed, reaching up to 93 mph for his EV. He also showed similarly well on the mound with a controlled delivery and fastball up to 83 mph.

Kelly, an athletic 5-foot-11, 150-pound frame, stood out in a dominant performance Saturday against Chicago Elite. He is a part of the 2029 class but was playing up with the 2028’s. His fastball sat 74-76 mph and showed an off-speed pitch, but mainly threw his fastball. He attacked hitters and got ahead in counts. This led to a high amount of two-strike counts and a handful of strikeouts. Kelly pitched with intent and fit right in with the older group. He moved well on the mound with a fluid motion and quick arm action. As Kelly continues to play up his development will only grow, as he stands to have an outstanding year on the mound.
