6/25/13: Powell is a 6-foot-2, 205 pound 2014 that shows good athleticism with a strong lower half and wide shoulders.  Powell was a participant in the Top Prospect Games in June where he was 81 mph from the outfield.  He throws from a high ¾ arm slot with accuracy.  Defensively he moves well, showing good hands and a clean exchange. 

At the plate Powell starts with an athletic setup and hits from a crouch position.  The stride is short and he gets good use of his lower half.  Powell displayed some present bat speed with a long path to the baseball. He consistently barrels up the baseball with some projectable power. Off the tee he posted an exit velo of 84 mph.

2/23/13: 6-foot-2, 205 pound junior possesses a strong lower half and wide shoulders.  From the OF throws from a high ¾ arm slot with some accuracy at 81 mph.  He moves well with good hands and a clean exchange.  At the plate uses an athletic setup and hits from a crouch position.  His stride is short and uses his lower half well.  His bat speed is quick with a long path to the baseball.  Showcased some barrel whip and projectable power.
