Body: 6-foot, 171-pound lean frame
Hit: Begins in a tall stance with a quick small load, then uses a short stride. Average bat speed. Level finish, level swing.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity. line drive approach.
Defense: Outfield, Consistent hands, average footwork, developing exchange.
Arm: 85 Outfield velocity. Long arm action, an-over-the-top slot, decent accuracy.
Speed: 7.25
Pitching: Tall-and-fall delivery, easy effort. ¾ arm angle, consistent arm speed, compact arm action. Tall balance point, even shoulders, lands soft, an upright finish.
FB: T83. 81-82 mph. Tailing action, occasional accuracy, straight movement.
CB: 66-67 mph. Sinking action, occasional control, 12/6 movement.
CH: 67-70 mph. Fading action, arm side command, straight movement.
Carmel High School, Class of 2022; 6-foot, 171-pound RHP/OF. At the plate, the left-handed hitter showed his power in the box with a strong exit velocity of 89 mph. He started slightly loaded with a flat bat; had a strong wing with a level swing plane. He ended his swing with a high, two-handed finish. Recorded an outfield position velocity of 77 mph. He moves through ball well and showed his ability in outfield while throwing from a ¾ slot. He clocked a 60 time of 7.25 at the event. On the mound, He uses a long arm action and hides the ball in his delivery. His curveball pops out of his hand and created groundballs in the game. He sat with his fastball at 77-78 mph with a max of 79 mph. He consistently threw his curveball 66-67 mph with movement. His changeup regularly came in at velocities of 72-73 mph.
2/23/2019: Daniel Cunningham, OF/RHP, Carmel HS, 2022, 5 foot 11, 165 pounds, sets up with weight on his back leg from the left side at the plate. Sets his hands early and swing works downhill to a flat finish with some bat speed. Recorded an exit velo of 86 mph and ran a 7.4 60 yard dash. Throws on the mound with a long arm action and high ¾ slot. Fastball has some ASR and sat 78-80. Curveball is 11-5 in shape and sat 65-68. CH sat 70-72 with some ASR.
2/9/2019: Daniel Cunningham, OF/RHP, Carmel HS, 2022, 5 foot 11, 165 pounds, uses an early hand load and a small stride forward to launch from the left side. Has good batspeed for his age and produced a max exit velo of 81 mph, and also ran a 7.4 60 yard dash. Daniel touched 80 mph out of a high ¾ slot and long arm action off the mound. Showed good fade life on a CH at 70-72. Also threw an 12/6 CB at 65-68.
