Body: 6-foot-3, 165-pounds, plenty of room to fill out
Hit: RHH. Tall stance, smooth load. Extension on his finish, level swing.
Power: 83 mph exit velocity.
Defense: 85 outfield velocity. Firm hands, fluid footwork.
Arm: RH. Loose arm action, high ¾ slot, consistent accuracy.
Pitching: Tall/Fall type delivery with regular effort. Smooth rhythm, uphill shoulders, tends to fly open. Falls off towards 1B side. Long, high 3/4 arm action.
FB: T84. 82-83 mph.
CB: 68-69 mph. Low in the zone accuracy, tight movement.
CH: 79-82 mph. Fading action, consistent accuracy.
2/23/2019: Eric Wigginton, RHP/OF, Charlestown HS, 2021, 6 foot 2, 150 pounds, throws out of a mid ¾ slot with a medium length arm action. Has good pitchers build that still has plenty of room to fill out. Fastball has some down angle and sat 77-80, CH is a good pitch with sink and sat 69-73, SL was 68-71 with a short 11/4 break, CB was 65-67 with short 11/5 break. Offensively, Eric recorded an exit velo of 85 mph. Hands load early and makes contact early out front. Eric also threw 82 mph from the OF with good footwork and arm action.
1/6/2019: Eric Wigginton, RHP/OF, Charlestown HS, 2021, 6 foot 2, 150 pounds, pitches from a tall, slow delivery and a mid ¾ slot. Recorded a max velo of 80 mph. Eric spun an 11/5 CB 63-65 and also threw a SL at 68-71. Slider is the better pitch. At the plate, Eric hits slightly open with a knee to knee load and barrel tilt to set his hands. Had good lower half connection and recorded an exit velo of 85 mph. Adding strength to his frame should impact his tools in a very positive way.
7/10/18: 2021 RHP/OF hits from the right side. Uses tall setup in the box. Stays tall throughout swing. Uses lower half well to help generate leverage. Short stride to the baseball, bat speed was average through the zone. Posted an exit velo of 79. Bat path was level to slightly uphill throughout the zone as well. Showed line drive potential to the gaps. In the OF showed fluid footwork through the baseball. Arm strength was average at 77 with accuracy. On the mound pitches from high ¾ arm slot. Long loose arm stroke. Some rhythm in delivery. Stays in line to the plate throughout delivery. FB sat 74-75 T77 also mixed in CB with gradual break at 60-63.
