Jacob Murphy: RHP/SS, (2023) Center Grove, IN. 5-foot-7, 158-pound lean frame. Athletic at the plate, the right-handed hitter had a max exit velocity of 86 mph. Started in an athletic open stance and had a long stride. Has raw bat speed. He created some loud contact during his round. A line drive approach. In the outfield, he showed a plus arm and had life on his throws with a position velocity of 90 mph; has a clean fluid exchange and athletic footwork. In the infield, his position velocity was registered at 83 mph. Used an-over-the-top slot and a short arm action. Recorded a 60 time of 7.49 at the event. Athletic on the mound, has above average arm speed to the plate and throws from an over-the-top arm angle. Drop-and-drive type pitcher and shows max effort. An athletic balance point. Threw his fastball 82-84 mph. 12/6 curveball (70-71). He had running action on his changeup (75-78).

2/23/2019: Jacob Murphy, SS/RHP, Center Grove HS, 2023, 5 foot 6, 145 pounds, is a good combination of arm speed bat speed for a younger player. Threw 88 mph from the outfield and had an exit velo of 85 mph. In the infield he Threw 84 mph with average feet and a slower release. At the plate he shows good rhythm , has early hand load and swing works a little downhill. On the mound, Jacob showed a FB at 76-79, CB with good shape at 67-69, and a CH 72-73. It will be interesting to see Jacob’s too set grow over the coming years as he continues to mature.
