Six-foot-3, 205-pound left-handed hitter with a simple and easy to repeat swing. Minimal load and separation produces solid bat speed (92 mph avg exit speed). Loose with lift for above average power potential. Best bolt during BP traveled 386’ to pull side. Chance to really hit at the collegiate level. Ran a 6.88 sixty after a slow start with a loose, in-line arm swing. Strong defender with near average arm strength (82 mph) from the outfield. Could get more out of lower half with proper footwork after catch to improve arm strength and accuracy.

+ OF Jared Comia (Hanover Central HS, IN) paced the Sparks’ offense in the championship, hitting two doubles and scoring two runs. He also had a double and two runs scored in the semifinal. From the left side, the Illinois recruit has a loose swing and quick hands. He also has plus speed, making multiple turns in 4.3-4.4 seconds and gliding in center field.

2/23/2019: Jared Comia, OF/1B, Hanover Central HS, 2021, 6 foot 2, 183 pounds, stands tall from the left side slightly open. Uses a small controlled leg lift to load, and a short separation move to generate a short quick stroke. Had a max exit velo of 89 mph, with plenty more in the tank as his athletic frame fills out. He ran a 7.07 and threw 80 mph from the outfield with good footwork.

6.19.18 - Long and wiry at 6-foot, 160-pounds the left-handed hitting outfielder exhibits quick hands at the plate with a direct path to the ball. Utilizing a leg hang to work his hands back, Comia looked the part of a future, top of the order hitter as he spoiled multiple tough pitches, and worked deep into counts while remaining comfortable in his approach and balanced throughout. He looks to spray line drives, primarily to the opposite fields, and features graceful strides with confident routes in the outfield.

5.5.17 - Lanky, athletic left-handed hitting outfielder. Hits from an open setup with loose hands. Simple, easy swing, ball jumps off his barrel at times and uses the whole field. Hit an opposite field home run and a double off the left-field wall on Sunday. Defensively, long, easy strides in the outfield, covers ground well in center field.

3.5.17 - 5-foot-10, 143 pound, lanky, multi-positional left-handed hitting prospect. Natural outfielder with a loose, easy swing. Offensively, setup open, leg kick timing trigger, good use of lower half, maintains balance with fluid rhythm throughout. Gap-to-gap hitter with an easy, loose, low effort swing, short uphill barrel path, occasionally gets good extension, generates bat speed, recorded a 77 mph exit velocity. As a position player, plays through the ball, fields with soft hands, quick and fluid footwork, clean exchanges. Throws with a short, loose arm action from a high ¾ slot, accurate arm, clocked at 72 mph from the outfield and 68 mph across the infield. On the mound,  short, quick arm works from a high ¾-to-3/4 arm slot. Athletic delivery, smooth rhythm, works on-line, lands square. Fastball features slight run, clocked at 66-67 mph, topped out at 69 mph. Curveball breaks on a 12/6 plane, near fastball arm speed, controlled the zone, clocked at 50-52 mph. Changeup clocked at 55-58 mph. Ran a 7.47 laser-timed 60.
