6/21/16: The 6 foot 4 225 pound catcher showcased quick feet with a strong arm behind the plate.  Pop times ranged between 1.95-2.04.   Nolan hits from an athletic setup with a leg kick.  Bat speed is fast with extension.  Has gap to gap power.  Exit velocity topped at 92.
5/26/16 Game Notes: 6-foot-4 225 pound uncommitted backstop has a strong, physical build and receives well. Pop times between innings 1.95 - 2.05. Handled advanced velocity and breaking pitches well. At the plate has balance and load. Level swing plane with good bat speed. Drove ball to all fields with some power.

FUTURE GAMES 2015:
 Metcalf is a 6-foot-4, 225-pound catcher with a physical frame and good actions behind the plate. He shows the ability to stick pitches with a quick transfer. The arm action is short and quick and has been up to 82 from the crouch with pop times in the low near 2.0. Offensively, Metcalf hits from a balanced setup and loads back using a short stride. He displays good bat speed and gets to extension regularly producing gap-to-gap power.

6/25/15: The 6-foot-4 225 pound physical catcher displayed good actions behind the plate with the ability to stick pitches well. Transfer was quick along with short, quick arm action.  Velocity was 79 from the crouch.  Pop times were 1.99-2.08.  Offensively, Nolan had an exit velocity of 88mph.   Offensively, hits from a balanced setup and loads back.  Stride is short with good balance.  Possesses bat speed and gets to extension regularly producing gap to gap power.  


2/22/15: 
Strong, physical 6-foot-3, 220 pound catcher possesses soft hands behind the plate.  Needs to improve on quickness and flexibility.  Displayed a good, clean transfer on his throws to 2B.  Front side tends to fly open.  Pop times were 2.05-2.08.  Accurate arm at 78 mph.  Offensively, stats from a balanced setup, using a short stride.  Tendency to drop hands during the load.  Good use of the lower half with good balance throughout the swing.  Possesses a quick bat with good approach.  Level path to the ball, gets to extension.  Possesses gap power.  Recorded a high exit velo of 86 mph.  

7/29/14: 
6 foot 3 inches, 215 pounds, 8.0/60, 2.0- 2.20 pop time, Big athletic young man with a strong lower body, moves well behind the plate and handles pitchers well. Strong arm (82 mph) with good baseball instincts. With the bat he starts with his hands high and a quick trigger from a balanced stance, ball jumps off his bat, gap to gap type hitter that will hit for power has he continues to get stronger.

6/18/14:
6’3/215, 7.9/60, 2.0-2.06 pop time, Athletic catcher with a strong arm and fluid feet. Moves well behind the plate. Throws strikes to second base. Intense competitor. Hits from a balanced stance with a short stride and has extension through the ball at contact. Definite follow.
