6-foot, 190-pound right handed hitting catcher, athletic and physical frame with present strength. Quincy University commit, hits from a balanced set up, smooth load, short stride, balanced through swing. Shows bat speed, short level bat path with extension, gap to gap type hitter, power potential. In game play Dreher had two walks, a deep fly out to the warning track in center field, and a hard it double to the opposite field gap. Advanced defensive skills behind the plate. Quick release to go along with a strong accurate arm. Flashed a pop time of 2.00 in game and warm ups. In Saturdays game, Dreher barreled up baseballs all day after taking a 4-pitch walk in his first at-bat. He doubled off the left field fence, singled hard up the middle, and flew out deep to centerfield. Showed easy and athletic actions all around. After 5.2 innings behind the plate, Dreher took the gear off and toed the rubber striking out the final batter of the game with the tying run in scoring position. Composed throughout, he sports a short, open stride with a short, high ¾ arm slot with rhythm in his delivery. His fastball sat in the low 80’s, topping 83 mph and he collected the final swing-and-miss on a 10/4 curveball buried at 67 mph. 

6-foot, 190-pound C / 3B with a pop time of 1.95-2.01. At the plate, starts in a balanced stance with his knee slightly bent and his bat flat behind his head. Uses movement in his hands to create rhythm; has a straight to the ball swing path; stays behind the ball well; has an explosive swing with a high finish; 90 mph exit velocity. At catcher, has quick hands and a fast transfer; doesn't gain much ground but makes up for with it with a short arm action; throws were accurate and on the bag for the most part; 79 mph exit velocity. At third, has fluid hands and smooth glove work; moves to the ball well and shows athleticism; 86 mph position velocity. Recorded a 60 time of 7.46.

2/16/2019: Tanner Dreher, C/3B, Covington HS, 2020, 6 foot, 190 pounds, showed physical presence and arm strength behind the plate, throwing 81 mph from the crouch. Tanner posted pop times from 1.87-2.00 with a good release, and average accuracy. Uses large weight shift and forward move to get to foot strike. Has strength in the swing with a 93 mph exit velocity, would like to see less movement to get forward to separation.

6/12/18: 2020 catcher hits from right side closed athletic setup in the box. Weight goes back with rhythm in swing as trigger as well as hand load. Did tend to over stride at times. When on time showed good ability to use all parts of the field with pop in bat. Behind the dish receives well, showed good footwork gaining ground on pops with a quick exchange. Arm strength is above average at 79. Pops ranged from 1.87-2.0.

2/24/18: 5-foot-11, 185 pound catcher has a fast bat with potential plus power in the box.  Twitchy lower half.  Physical, strong hands.  Long, uphill path with extension.  Partial use of lower half, average balance.  High exit velocity of 90.  From the crouch, footwork is quick and short.  Transfer is clean.  High 3/4 slot.  Throws topped 79 with some accuracy.  Pop times ranged 1.96-2.02.  Ran a 7.39 60 yard dash.

1.29.17  - 5-foot-10, 175-pound, strong, athletically built, two-way prospect. Defensively, on the infield, flashed a plus arm for his age: clocked at 86 mph with life across the diamond. Athletic, clean arm action, short, quick and from an over-the-top slot. Hands are soft, fields athletically, plays through the baseball and fluid footwork. Offensively, flashed bat speed, uphill path and fluid rhythm throughout; 84 mph exit velocity from a tee. Open setup, big pre-pitch movement and quick, long leg-lift stride. 4.60 home-to-first runner. On the mound, right-handed pitcher, repeatable, tall and fall delivery, stays on-line, recoil finish. Athletic, clean, quick arm action from an over-the-top slot. Feel for a three-pitch mix. Fastball, straight, up in the zone at times, 82-83 mph, topped at 84. Good feel for his curveball, depth, occasional sharp action, 12/6 shape, 65-67 mph. Changeup, near fastball arm speed, thrown for strikes, occasional sink, 72-76 mph.
