Second Look : Coleman's second look was even better than the first. In this look, the Kentucky recruit touched 92 early before settling at 88-91 throughout 7 innings of work, holding 91s late. Point blank, if I need a one game win, Coleman may be the arm that I give the ball to in this class. He is an ultra-competitor with tons of feel and his ability to land three quality offerings at will is what I value most. The fastball velocity trending up is obviously encouraging, but the feel for a future plus 77-80 change and ability to create bite on a low-80s curveball that plays with depth plays the heater up even higher. I saw two distinct shaped breaking balls in my first look, but this look came with exclusive CB usage, which I think plays best with the OTT arm slot he attacks from. I couldn't be more bullish on the kid, and there is plenty of projection to the athletic 6-foot-1, 175 pound frame to go along with a slam dunk SP profile.

'25 LHP Will Coleman (Castle) was his typical-self, flooding the zone with a four-pitch mix. Coleman is a super-strikethrower, sitting 85-86, touching 86.4 mph on his carry fastball (18"+ IVB). The changeup is the separator for the lanky, 6-foot-1, 175 pounder, pulling the string on a plus-change at 71-73 mph (-17.2" horizontal). His ability to carry the heater and throw the changeup on command allows him to keep hitters off-balance in a game setting. The Missouri recruit also showed the ability to manipulate shape on spin, throwing a firmer, late-breaking slider at 76-77 mph, and also showing a bigger, 70-71 mph curveball with 12/6 shape.

Position: LHP/OF

Body: 6-foot, 155-pound lean athletic build.

Hit: (LHH) Projectable. Started in an open stance with a smooth load, then used a short stride. Quick bat speed. Good extension on his finish, short loose swing. Line drive gap to gap approach. 

Power: 88 mph exit velocity, average 79.4 mph. 64.8 mph bat speed average. 20.4 mph hand speed average.

Defense:  (OF) Sure hands, consistent fluid footwork, lengthy exchange. Solid. 

Arm: 83 mph outfield velocity. Quick arm action, high ¾ slot. 

Speed: 7.40 (60-yard).

Pitching: Athletic. Feel delivery, easy effort. High ¾ arm angle, some arm speed, short clean arm action. A clean finish.

FB: 80-82 mph. (Max spin 1972;  Avg 1707). Both sides of the plate accuracy, slight running action. 

CB: 68-73 mph. Tight action, sharp movement. (Max spin 2178; Avg 1678). 

CH: 67-70 mph. Feel control, plus fading action. 

SL: Tight movement. (Max spin 2072; Avg 2016).
