2021 MLB Draft: The 6-foot-3, 200-pound Slavens started his college career at Wichita State, then came to Fayetteville via Johnson County CC. He’s a strong left-handed hitter with power to all fields. With that power comes swing and miss, as he struck out 64 times in 218 at-bats with 14 home runs this spring. He also shows solid defense with a strong arm.

Slavens is a 6-foot-2 170-pound left-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class, recently committed to Wichita State.  He ran a 7.12 60 and a 4.37 home to first.  He has a 91 mph exit velo. At the plate, aggressive swing, fast bat speed, power to pull side, balanced set up, leg kick, hands walk-away from stride, leverage in lower half, hit home run in game action down left field line.  On the infield, quick actions, attacks the ball, 90 mph positional velo, over the top release, momentum after fielding the ball, quick arm speed, loose arm action, hands and feet in sync, mostly accurate throws, lean and tall projectable frame.

Slavens is a 6-foot-2 155-pound left-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class.  He ran a 7.21 60 and a 4.53 home-to-first.  He has an 88 mph exit velo, one of the top exit velos among LHH. At the plate, balanced stance, leg kick, aggressive swing, shows power to pull side, quick bat speed, loose hands, hard contact to right side during game action.  On the infield, 85 mph positional velo, one of the top for the event, attacks the ball with footwork, over the top release, quick and athletic actions, soft hands, somewhat accurate throws.

Slavens is a 6-foot-1 156-pound left-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class.  He ran a 7.37 60 and a 4.56 home-to-first. 85 mph exit velo, one of the top LHH velos of the event. At the plate, aggressive swing, balanced stance, smooth rocking load, flashed power to pull side, swing produced mostly pull side line drives, level path, quick bat speed.  On the infield, moves aggressively to the ball, plays through the catch, 81 mph positional velo, high three quarters arm action, loose arm action, mostly accurate throws.

11/1/15 - Slavens is a 6-foot 145-pound left-handed hitting shortstop in Kansas’ 2019 class.   Slavens ran a 7.59 60 and a 4.90 home-to-first. At the plate, wide set up, minimal load, aggressive bat speed, swing produced gap-to-gap line drives, 81 mph exit velo. On the infield, Slavens has a 78 mph positional velo, one of the top middle infield velos for the event, projectable build with loose arm action, arm works, over the top release, quick feet and quick catch and release, mostly accurate throws. Singled to right during game action.
