1/15/18 - Howard is a 6-foot-1 160-pound right-handed hitting catcher and outfielder in Kansas’ 2019 class.  He ran a 4.75 home to first and has a 79 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, short stride, quick hands, body stays under control, long levers with lean frame, feel for the barrel, solid consistent contact during batting practice.  Behind the plate, 73 mph positional velocity, 2.03 to 2.16 pop times, quick exchange, over the top release, moves well to block, feet gain ground to throw, throws are mostly accurate with carry. In the outfield, 83 mph positional velocity, short over the top release, clean transfer, plays through the ball, clean exchange.


8/8/17 - Howard is a 6-foot 155-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Kansas 2019 class.  He ran a 7.37 60 and a 4.77 home to first.  He has a 76 mph exit velocity. At the plate, balanced stance, smooth load into back side, minimal hand movement, aggressive swing, mostly pull side contact, level through the zone, high finish.  Behind the plate, 2.07 to 2.14 pop times, 72 mph positional velo, thin set up in base, quick transfer with fluid footwork, momentum through the catch, soft hands, mostly accurate throws.

7/5/17 - Howard is a 6-foot 155-pound right-handed hitting catcher in Kansas’ 2019 class.  He ran a 7.25 60 and has an exit velocity of 75 mph. At the plate, smooth rhythm, hands walk way from stride, loose hands, feel for the barrel, flashed pull side pop, gap to gap approach.  Behind the plate, pop times between 2.07 and 2.20-seconds, 70 mph positional velo, quick over the top release, thin set up, fluid footwork, mostly accurate throws, occasional carry, lean and projectable build.

1/28/17 - Howard is a 6-foot 150-pound right-handed hitting catcher and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class.  He ran a laser timed 7.29 60 and a 4.38 60.  He has an exit velo of 78 mph. At the plate, At the plate, balanced stance, slight closed stride, smooth load with toe tap and some hand movement, level bat path, swing produced line drives gap-to-gap.  Behind the plate, 2.09 to 2.41 pop-times with 63 mph positional velo, flexible set up with soft hands, over the top release, hands and feet in sync, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Howard has a long and lean frame, slight tuck at balance point, long arm circle, in line stride, fastball at 76-78 mph, high percentage of strikes, 11-to-5 breaking ball with slurve-type spin, gradual action, change up at 67-68 mph.
