Nielsen runs a 7.16 60 and has an exit velo of 87 mph.  Balanced set-up at plate, pre-swing rhythm in lower half, middle approach, maintains barrel, level to extension, gap-to-gap approach, doubled to centerfield and singled to left during game action.  In the outfield, 83 mph positional velo, one of the best for the event, high three-quarters release, quick feet, fluid transfer. On the mound, Neilsen has high three-quarters release, strides inline, throws with regular effort, pitches to contact.  Fastball at 78-82 mph, some with slight run, curveball has 11-to-5 shape, showed to be a good when he stays on top, 65-71 mph, bottom of zone.

2/21/15 - Nielsen is a 6-foot 195-pound right-handed pitcher from Kansas’ 2016 class and Mill Valley HS, works from high-three quarters arm slot, long arm circle, smooth rhythm, throws fastball for strikes at 81-84 mph, showed a two-seam with slight run, 11-to-5 shaped breaking ball, late action, 65-67 mph, change-up at 65-67 mph. Strong/projectable build.
