Arm: Right-Handed.  INF - 79 mph. Average arm strength. Quick, pitcher like arm action. Whippy.
Hit: Left-Handed. Hits from a narrow, upright, and open stance with rhythm in his hands. Uses a small leg lift and moderate stride before launching his hands on an uphill path with some length and bat speed. Back-leg heavy swing.
Power: 89 mph exit velocity from the tee. Big pop at the plate. Pull approach with consistent lift, nearly all barrels.
Run: 4.46 runner home-to-first. 

Delivery: Tall/fall delivery, level shoulders, lead leg kicks, on line with target.
Arm Action: Right-Handed. Short arm action, high 3/4 slot.
FB: T80, 78-80 mph. Four-seam type, lively at times, strikes.

10/20/18 – Sawyer has a lean build with a projectable frame at 6-foot, 155-pounds and is a left-handed hitting outfielder and RHP in Kansas’ 2021 class. At the event he ran a 7.85 second 60, 4.85 home-to-first and posted an exit velocity of 79 mph. At the plate, Sawyer shows quiet hands, abbreviated leg lift into load, in line stride, high finish with hands, hard contact to center field during batting practice. Defensively in the outfield, Sawyer is raw with good actions, fluid footwork, arm shows potential as he continues to develop, positional velocity of 77 mph, mostly accurate throws. On the mound, Sawyer has a tall and fall delivery, directional with home plate, good downhill tilt, loose arm action, high three-quarter release, repeats. At the event, fastball is 72-74 mph, arm side run, occasional sink, curveball is 58-62 mph, 11-to-5 shape, gradual action, changeup has a chance to be a plus pitch, near fastball arm speed, fading action, 64-67 mph. During game action, Sawyer effectively kept hitters off balance by throwing all three pitches for a high percentage of strikes.

2/24/18 - Sawyer is a 5-foot-11 155-pound left-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2021 class.  He ran a 4.63 home to first and has a 79 mph exit velocity. At the plate, open stance, controlled leg lift, slight arm bar, in line stride, level path, middle to pull side contact during hitting evals.  In the outfield, short over the top arm slot, 75 mph positional velocity, quick transfer and throw one time with footwork, clean exchanges. On the mound, Sawyer was 72-74-mph with fastball, 61-63 mph with breaking ball, early 11-to-5 break, some sharp, starts on same plane as fastball, 67-70 mph with change up, occasional sink, near fastball arm speed, controlled delivery, throws with regular effort, keep shoulders level, simple and repeatable delivery.
