8/5/15 - Johnson is a 5-foot-11 170-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. Johnson runs a 7.00 60 and has an exit velo of 83 mph. Athletic stance, no wasted movement in load, quick hands and bat path, level to extension, stays inside ball, gap-to-gap approach, singled and doubled in game action.  Defensively, athletic footwork, soft hands, three-quarters release, quick transfer, accurate throws at 84 mph, one of top for the event.

2015 All-AVCTL-I - 1st Team

1/10/15 - Johnson is a thin, athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. During defensive work showed quick hands and feet, overall athletic actions. Throws with quick, clean arm action, three-quarters slot, accurate arm. Ran a 7.16 60-yard dash. Simple line drive approach at the plate, rhythm, loose hands, some bat speed, lower half works. Solid class of 2016 prospect that stood out defensively at shortstop and has plenty of room to fill out physically.
