6/18/14 - Dehon is a 6-foot-4, 190-pound right-handed pitcher.  His delivery has early balance, rhythm and he throws from a unique low three-quarters to side-arm slot with loose arm action. His 78-81 mph fastball has arm-side run that matches his low slot and, at times, bottoming out sink as it reaches the plate.  Dehon also throws a 65-68 slurve and 69-71 running change-up.  His change-up is a potential plus pitch as he maintains arm speed with it and it dies as it approaches the plate.  He has made steady improvement velocity and command-wise as we have followed him over the last ten months.
1/4/14 - The 6-foot-4, 190-pound Dehon throws from a deceptive low ¾ slot with a loose arm.  His fastball ranged from 78-80 miles per hour, at times running, at times cutting.  His top velocity of 80 is up from when we saw him top out at 77  in October.  Dehon threw both a 68 curveball and 74-76 slider, although his slider has the most potential of the two as it follows his natural arm path sweeping away from right-handed hitters.  He showed excellent command of a 66-68 change-up that sinks away from left-handed hitters, an important weapon for him going forward as left-handed hitters will get a much better look at his pitches from his arm slot than righty’s.
10/19/13 - Dehon is a low ¾ slot right-handed pitcher that throws across his body making him very difficult versus right-handed hitters.  His long arm action produces a 75-77 mph fastball, 64-67 sweeping slurve and 70 change-up.  His funky, segmented delivery and low arm slot reminds of a high school version of the guy big league managers bring into the game in the 7th inning to get the right-handed hitter out.  The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Dehon is only a sophomore which means the mid-80’s version could be coming in the next year or so – not good news for Kansas high school hitters.
