2/21/16 - Wohler is a 6-foot-2 175-pound right-handed hitting first baseman in Kansas’ 2017 class.  He ran a 4.28 home to first and has an exit velo of 85 mph. At the plate, thin and open stance, aggressive swing, hard consistent contact during batting practice, gap-to-gap.  On the infield, 82 mph positional velo, works behind the ball, fields in athletic positon, quick catch and release with momentum through catch. Ideal projectable pitcher’s body. Works to a tall balance point, slight turn, throws downhill. Quick, clean arm action, high three-quarters arm slot. Overall athletic delivery with rhythm and flow. High percentage of strikes with his fastball, 82-85 mph. Breaking ball with 11/5 shape, at times short, 70-72 mph. Change-up with arm-side run, 77-78 mph. Wohler is a very interesting class of 2017 prospect that is already trending up physically and velocity-wise – last fall he was a rail thin 6-footer, topping out with his fastball at 79 mph. With his sound pitching delivery and clean arm action, as he continues to fill out his projectable frame, there isn’t much doubt there is more in the tank velocity-wise.

6/2/15 - Nick is a 6'1 165-pound right hand hitting catcher and right handed pitcher from Manhattan. Was quick behind the plate, receives well, good feet and short arm action with pop times of 1.92 to 2.09 and a catcher positional velo of 75 mph and a 1.97 game action pop, Catch and throw with mostly accurate throws. Is balanced with a open stance short stride with a knee tuck load, good balance a simple swing with a exit velo of 84 mph. Has a good approach to hitting with single in the game. On the mound has a loose long arm action from a high 3/4 slot with a quick arm and a good balance point keeps everything down and throws strikes. In game action his fastball ranged from 74-78 mph with a max fastball of 79 mph and breaking ball that ranged from 65-70 mph.

10/19/14 - Wohler is a 6-foot-1, 155-pound right-hand hitting catcher and first baseman. At the plate showed a tall set-up, open stance, strides inline, hand load with length, lower half works, some bat speed, maintains balance throughout. Line drive approach, 81 mph exit velocity. In the games went 2-for-4 at the plate including a triple to right center field. Behind the plate showed athletic footwork, clean exchanges, short over-the-top throwing motion, easy thrower, throws had carry, throwing velocity up to 75 mph (top mark in camp), pop times in the 1.98-2.09 range. Ran a 7.77 60-yard dash and 4.98 home-to-first from the right side. On the mound delivery is under control early, tall balance point, strides inline, three-quarters arm action, loose arm, athletic finish. Very simple, repeatable delivery. Fastball 72-75 mph, most with early arm side running movement. Curveball, some with late break, 68-70 mph. Retired five out of six batters face, including two strikeouts. Projectable frame with plenty of room to fill out physically.
