Hit: RHH. Balanced, upright stance. Minimal load into a short stride. Slight uphill swing path. Compact through the zone with hand speed. Mid/pull approach with line-drive contact. 71.5 mph bat speed with 7 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 92 max exit velocity, averaged 83.5 mph. 329' max distance. Above-average hand speed.
Arm: RH. INF-87 mph. Quick high-3/4 arm action.
Defense: Displays feel around the bag with clean footwork and gather out front. Shows ability to pick balls in the dirt.
ATH: 7.67 runner in the 60. 22.90 max vertical.

LHP Carter Rose (Shawnee Mission East, 2025) put together one of the day’s most dominant performances on the mound, fooling hitters with complete command of a four-pitch mix over two innings of work. A strong-bodied athlete at 6-foot, 193-pounds, Rose showcased a 84-86 mph fastball that played with an average of 16+ inches of natural armside run, reaching 22 inches at times. His best secondary pitch at the moment looks to be his curveball which he threw at 70-71 mph while showing a tight spinning slider in the 70’s as well as a changeup at 74-76 mph.

Delivery: Drop and drive delivery type. Athletic mover on the mound. Tall balance point. Easy, effortless delivery.
Arm Action: RH. 3/4 arm slot with clean, consitant, loose arm action. Ball jumps out of the hand.
FB: T89, 85-88 mph. Heavy ride through the zone. T2016, 1921 average rpm.
CB: 72-74 mph. Sweeping, 10/4 action. Tunnels well off of the FB. T2036, 1930 average rpm.
SPLT: 71-74 mph. Kills spin. Lives down in the zone.
ATH: 7.58 runner in the 60. 22.50 max vertical.

Hit: RHH. Athletic set up, weight shifted onto back leg. Short leg lift and stride with hands loading back. Compact swing with uphill path to contact. Flashed bat and hand speed. Worked through the middle of the field. 72.8 mph bat speed with 9 G's of rotational acceleration.
Power: 97 max exit velocity, averaged 87.1 mph. 295' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-88 mph. Smooth, quick arm action. 3/4 arm slot but flashed comfortablility from multiple slots. Throws played with carry.
Defense: Reliable footwork around the bag. Clean two hand gather.
ATH: 7.58 runner in the 60. 22.50 max vertical.

Sunday’s trip to Wichita provided us with an opportunity to check-in on one of the state’s top-ranked freshman in RHP/CIF Quincy Koehn (Maize, 2027), who’s also within the top-150 on our national rankings for the 2027 class. There’s no shortage of size on the mound for Koehn, who’s physically advanced for his age at 6-foot-4, 200-pounds, though still offers room to tack on plenty of mass as he gets older. An intentful mover down the mound, Koehn’s fastball ranged at 85-88 mph, touching 89 mph on his firmest bullet. Additionally, Koehn spun a short wrinkle breaking ball in the low-70s and a splitter at 71-74 mph. He also showed advanced bat strength for his age, reaching a peak exit velocity of 96.7 mph while averaging 87.1 mph per batted ball.

Body: 6-4, 180-pounds. Highly projectable frame, long and wiry with tons of room to add muscle.
Delivery: Athletic mover, drop and drive delivery with a tall balance point and easy effort.
Arm Action: RH. Clean and loose arm action from a high 3/4 slot. Repeats well.
FB: T82, 81-82 mph. Ball jumps out of the hand with ease. Plays with heavy riding action. T2181, 2091 average rpm.
SL: 69-73 mph. Throws with fastball arm speed, tight spin, 10/4 shape with sweeping action. T2329, 2106 average rpm.
SPLT: mph. Plays mostly straight with heavy sinking action.

Hits: RHH. Starts with weight on his backfoot, centered hands. Short stride, hands fall into load. Bat works on a compact and uphill path through contact.
Power: 83 max exit velocity, averaged 74.2 MPH. 293' max distance.
Arm: RH. INF-81 mph.Arm works with short and athletic action, displayed ability to throw from multiple slots. Throws play with carry across the diamond.
Defense: Feet remain active, reliable hands. Flashed feel for the bag.
Run: 8.03 runner in the 60.
