3/25/19

Hits from a balanced, athletic stance at the plate. Small front leg lift load into a small stride with minimal hand load. Quick, compact, slightly uphill swing path and nice lower half involvement. Stays on the ball well and uses the whole field. Very quick, rangy shortstop with smooth actions. Was 1-for-3 on the day with an RBI.

11.5.16 - Compact frame at 5-foot-3, 136-pounds. Explosive actions in size, plays bigger and faster than the smaller frame. Ran a 7.45 60-yard dash with a 1.73 10-yard split. Hits from an athletic slightly open setup. Smooth load back to wider hitting position. Nice balance throughout. Short swing path to the ball with bat speed and a middle approach during BP. Whips the bat. Exit velocity of 86 mph. Fundamentally sound action. Clean, smooth hands in the field. Solid footwork with clean hands and exchange and accurate throws. Infield velocity of 83 mph...Compact frame at 5-foot-3, 136-pounds. Controlled delivery with a long arm action. Creates fast arm speed pitching with some intent. Gets some lower half involvement. Lands square to the plate and athletic. FB up to 84 mph and comes out quick. Breaking ball ranged from 66-69 mph with short tight 10/4 action on the pitch. Change ranged from 72-74 mph and has later fade on the pitch.

6.21.16 - Has a slight frame  at 5-foot-3, 136-pounds but shows noticeable fast-twitch athleticism in every area of his game. At shortstop he showed active footwork, quick hands while making strong throws with loose arm action from a three-quarters slot. His top throw across the diamond was clocked at 80 mph. At the plate the right-hand hitter showed a very aggressive swing with a leg kick and fast hands as he flattened the ball out in the middle of the field during his batting practice round. He also registered an 85 mph exit velocity off the tee.

6.4.16 - 2019 Justin Caesar is an interesting raw prospect in the middle infield. Short swing from a balanced set up, clean hands and actions, confident first step. Has sound skill set and one to keep an eye on as he develops.
