2/23/13  Batka attended the first ever PBR Michigan showcase in Battle Creek last summer. On that day he touched 84 mph and primarily sitting 81-83 mph.  At the time the smaller Batka (5-foot-10) showed a quick arm and plenty of potential but his velocity just hadn’t come yet.  Fast forward to Saturday at Northwood, Batka sat 87-89 mph with his fastball. His arm was quick and clean.  The ball exploded out of his hand and he worked well downhill.  His breaking ball followed suit increasing its velocity (69-71). It was tighter and had good spin. He leaves it arm side from time to time but when he throws it well it has good bite.  His change was arguably his best pitch on this day.  It was 78-80mph and had good arm-side run. He located it well and showed good feel for it. Batka has emerged as one of emerged as one of the best lefties in the state.

6/19/12 Austin is a OF/LHP from Grand Rapids Christian High School, a winning program.  He is a well coached kid that displayed a solid fastball sitting 81-84 MPH.  His breaking ball had some bite to it despite being 63 MPH. He also displayed a split and a change up.

As a hitter he posseses a line drive swing with some pop at times.  He sprayed the ball around the yard all day demonstrating good balance and a short swing path.
