7/18/17 Starnes is a 6-foot-2, 165 pound prospect has an athletic frame. At the plate starts tall moving to a knee bend with a toe tap load swinging uphill using two hands. Made hard contact up the middle and to the pull side. Has a calm approach in the OF moving towards the ball to field off his left foot moving into a small crow hop and throw. On the mound steps left and uses a upbeat tempo working to his leg lift easy. Fast arm whip and good leg stride. Fastball explodes out the hand 86-87 mph while commanding the zone. Sharp 73-74 mph curve and 69-71 mph sinking change up.

10/23/19 - Starnes was maybe the most exciting arm to see on day 1 of the weekend, touching 94 mph with his fastball and kept a sharp breaking ball that flashed depth ahead in counts and sat 80-83 mph. The Northwest Florida right hander has command of his pitches and will use each one in most counts to keep hitters guessing. Fastball has some run and stays off the barrel for weak contact on a consistent basis.
