Uncommitted, 6-foot-4, 190-pound, highly-athletic, high-waisted, projectable right-handed pitcher, currently ranked No. 114 in Minnesota. Came out of the bullpen for the Blizzard and offered plenty of intrigue. Klug has a clean, easy arm and sat at 84-85 mph with occasional tilt. Klug’s best secondary was a 73-75 curveball that came out of the same window as his fastball and worked on an 11/5 plane.
Position: RHP/SS
Body: 6-foot-4, 190-pound projectable frame
Pitching: Projectable. Slow-tempo delivery, easy effort. Over-the-top arm angle, good arm speed, quick arm action. Athletic balance point, even shoulders, lands square, an athletic finish.
FB: T85. 84-85 mph. Heavy movement, fading action.
CB: 69-71 mph. Tight action, 12/6 movement.
CH: 74-76 mph. Straight movement.
'21 Austin Klug a RHP threw for the Rochester Pines. A long and lanky frame that comes from a high 3/4 arm slot. Fastball sat 77-79 mph and a curveball with 11/5 break at 65-66 mph. He went 4 innings striking out 5.
6-foot-1, 150-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.82 runner. Tall open stance, longer swing, inconsistent timing and contact, line drive and fly balls off bat, mid/pull approach, 78 mph exit velocity. Works around and through, higher fielding position, solid range, hands work in field, solid accuracy to bag, 75 mph arm across infield. On mound; long rocker step into higher athletic balance point, has body control, arm is clean out front with some funk on back side. Fastball was 79-80 mph, touching 82 mph, with slight running action to plate. Solid depth on 11/5 curveball that flashes occasional sharp break. Cut action on wobbly changeup in middle of zone.
