Arguably the most impressive workout for Team Missouri belonged to RHP/OF Brody Crane (Neosho, 2026). Crane showed high end bat speed with effortless power to pair, wearing out the left-center gap while leaving the yard a handful of times. He produced five batted balls at over 100 mph, peaking at 103.7 mph, and averaged 96.9 mph throughout his round. Crane’s ability to elevate the baseball is certainly noteworthy - he averaged 355 feet per batted ball, while his furthest traveled 406 feet, per TrackMan. The 6-foot, 205-pounder was also up to 92 mph from the outfield, with all of his throws registering above 90 mph.

With strength throughout a 6-foot-0, 205-pound frame, Crane got the day started with a loud round of BP that saw him send his best barrel 373 feet at 99.5 mph from the right side of the plate. Behind the plate, the junior posted 1.83-1.94 pop times with a 84 mph top velocity. To wrap up the day, Crane hopped on the mound, running his fastball up to 93 mph with the feel to fill up the zone with a slider at 80-82 mph, a changeup at 81-83 mph, and a tumbling splitter at 81-82 mph.

He showed initial arm strength behind the plate defensively, recording an event-high 77 mph max from the chute. Crane hopped on the mound later on in the workout, pitching at 84-85 mph with his fastball during his ‘pen. Crane’s tools are loud and we’re eager to watch the strides he’ll take throughout the year.
