RHP Jack Nobe (St. Francis Borgia, 2024; Xavier commit) was stellar in this brief look on the bump. Ranked No. 186 nationally in the 2024 class and No. 9 in the state of Missouri, Nobe showed flashes of dominance out of the ‘pen on Saturday. Mainly working with a two-pitch mix, Nobe was able to strike out five over his two innings of work while only allowing one run on two hits and a walk. Nobe’s fastball worked routinely at the bottom of the zone in the upper 80’s, touching 90 mph a couple times. Nobe’s breaking ball had a big break to it at times with some sharpness to induce swings and misses.

Nobe’s day started when he ran one of the day’s fastest 30-yard dashes (3.75) and posted a 1.64 10-yard split, which was also amongst the event’s leaders. He showed an athletic, uphill left-handed swing in BP that produced regularly elevated contact both on average (307 ft.) and peak (356 ft.). Nobe’s hardest barrel jumped off his bat at 97.4 mph and his regular knack for hard contact (89.2 mph) proved throughout. He hopped on the mound afterwards and produced the day’s firmest fastball velocities, sitting at an effortless 89-90 while topping at 91 mph. He spun a tight, firm 77-79 mph slider with depth as well, mixing in an 82-83 mph changeup throughout his ‘pen. Nobe’s status as a premier prospect in this class is evident, and he’s amongst the state’s top uncommitted juniors heading into the spring season.
