7/31/19

High level of competitiveness from the lanky, 6-foot-3, 170 pound righty.  Continued to attack with intent after falling victim to some defensive issues.  Stuff has a chance to continue to grow into an elite category.  Fastball ranged 84-88.  Occasional arm side run, especially when on the arm side.  The breaking ball sat 71-74 with hard 11/5 tilt when he worked with extension.  Occasionally pulled off the pitch, but there was always intent and hand speed with the breaking ball.  Swing and miss created with chase on the breaker.  The change-up was used vs. left handed hitters at 69-72, allowing the fastball to play up.  Athletic delivery.  Stable over the rubber with a high leg kick.  The toe works outside the knee on the leg lift.  Long arm swing.  High-3/4 release on most pitches.  Advanced arm speed.  Can lower the slot on his breaking ball, changing the window on the hitters.  Still some polish to apply but for a high-waisted righty with a very quick arm that seems to like to compete, there is a very high ceiling.

7/09/19

Lean, athletic 6-foot-3, 170 pounds.  Long legs and arms.  Loose arm, with ultra-quick hand through release.  High leg kick with a slight coil at balance.  Long arm stroke.  Will throw from a high-3/4 slot and over-the-top slot.  Fastball ranged 85-87.  Flashed an ability to elevate for punchouts.  Slider works out of the high-3/4 slot.  Hard, late, and with length at 72-74.

1/27/19

6 foot 2, 165-pound lanky build.  Athleticism plays on the mound.  Arm strength and arm speed are present.  Coils at balance, showing his back to the plate.  Uncoils, back to on-line with a long arm swing, clean, to an arm slot that can float.  Will throw from an over-the-top slot and a ¾ slot.  Lands on-line with a closed toe.  Backside fires early with a stable front side working to create plane.  Fastball at 81-84, around the zone.  Breaking ball is sharp with power type 11/5 tilt.  Throws it hard at 68-70.  Change-up tends to come from a high-3/4 slot at 75.  Frame and arm speed suggest a high ceiling on the mound.
Works to the ball on the infield with fluid feet.  Average hands funneling the ball to his midsection after catch.  Clean exchanges with a short arm action, throwing from a low ¾ slot.  Arm has carry across the diamond, topping at 76 mph.  Exit velocity recorded at 88 mph.  Recorded a 4.23 in the 30-yard dash, 4.75 in the 5-10-5, and 7-6 in the standing broad jump.

08.26.17
Average build in a young frame at 6-foot, 155 pounds.  Plenty of room for projection.  Fastball ranged 76-78 from an over-the-top slot.  Long arm action has some effort working through a little shoulder restriction at release.  Rushes through balance at times.  Works level and on-line, finishing with athleticism.  Breaking ball as gradual 12/6 tilt at 60-62.  Erratic at time with misses up and down.  Controlled dialed in as he threw several in consecutive order.  Change-up ranged 63-64.  Some deception in the arm speed as it mimics fastball.
Right handed hitter works from a tall base, loading back.  Bat head has some waggle, setting in different launch positions at times.  Live drive approach works the middle of the field with an exit velocity of 81 mph.  Good hands and quick feet in the outfield.  Low exchanges work to a loose, high-3/4 slot.  Accuracy and carry with throws measuring 76 mph out of the hand.  Ran a 7.72 sixty.
