In front of 50-plus pro scouts the 2021 Big Ten Freshman of the Year came out of the gates smoking hot on Friday against Vanderbilt. The right handed hitter tallied three hits in four at-bats, which included a double. He followed that performance with three more hits against Maryland on Saturday, and finished the Classic 7-for-12 with four RBI. Wide-shouldered and super strong at 6-foot, 205 pounds, Anderson has limited other tools, but he can square up a baseball. With immense forearm/hand strength and well above average bat speed in just the flick of his wrists, he’s able to drive both gaps and generate hard contact to all fields. A below average athlete and stiff-hipped runner (4.44 H-1B) he will likely require a move to left field or first base at the next level. Regardless of where he winds up on defense, he's now on most scouts' follow lists as a potential top three round prospect this July.

Cape Cod: Anderson caught fire the last week of the regular season, stroking 14 hits in 30 at-bats, which raised his season slash to .312/.383/.387. He also posted a strong .283/.328/.425 slash for Bourne in 2021 before scuffling a bit back in Lincoln this past spring. Strong and compact at 6-foot, 205 pounds, Anderson brings both strength and bat speed to the box. With a line drive, up-the-middle approach and swing he has not yet produced the in-game power that his corner position demands. A below average runner with fringe arm strength when set, and even less on the run, Anderson will likely require a move to left field or first base at the next level. Regardless, he's likely on most scouts' follow lists as a bat-first prospect and a potential top 10 round prospect for 2023.

Cape Cod- A pull hitter with a big swing, the stocky built Anderson doesn’t get cheated at the plate. He can be overaggressive at times and chase out of the zone, but he has produced consistent, hard contact this summer. His level swing path and knack to find the barrel to date has produced a .293 batting average and .440 SLG% in the Cape after a true freshman season with the Huskers when he slashed .332/.386/.500 with seven home runs. Currently a third baseman, the 6-foot, 200-pound right handed hitter will likely need to move across the infield to first base in the future. He’s a less than average athlete with a well below average run tool (4.45-4.55 H-1B), below average hands and near average arm strength. However, it’s his big bat that gets him placed favorably on scouts’ 2023 follow lists, and with continued strong production he could land easily in the top ten rounds.
