He possesses the prototypical pitcher’s frame, long levers, wide shoulders with plenty of room to add weight and strength. Holligan has a repeatable delivery, out of a high ¾ slot, he pitched 83-85 mph, touching 86. He sat comfortably at 84. He flashed a breaking ball with good shape and occasional tight spin, 74-75. Most intriguing was his feel for the changeup, 75-76. His changeup has the potential to be a plus pitch down the line with some arm speed improvement. With consistent area control he breezed through his work. He showed athleticism fielding comebackers and with his footwork on picks. A high risk, high reward type player, the Coyotes landed a good one.
