Game Notes - Las Vegas at Arbor View

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV – The Las Vegas Wildcats met with the Arbor View Aggies for what would be an offensive showdown. ’19 Brennan Holligan got the ball for Aggies, pairing up against ’19 Anya Leonel of the Wildcats. Both pitchers would compete; however ,each team’s offense came ready to play Thursday afternoon. The Wildcats came out swinging, scoring 5 runs in the first thanks to three hits and two errors. The Aggies attempted to keep things close by plating 2 runs to close out the first, courtesy of a double by ’19 Niles Scafati. Runs continued to pile up, Anaya helped his own cause with an RBI double in the top of the second. ’20 Brad Stone (Arbor View) drove in a run in the bottom of the second. Both teams would score again in the third, combining for 9 runs in the inning. In the top of the fourth ’21 Hunter Kublick (Arbor View) came in from the bullpen to keep things tight. With the game tied at 10, University of Arkansas commit, ’19 Jesse Pierce (Arbor View) entered from shortstop to pitch, minimizing damage, holding the Wildcats scoreless in the sixth. The Aggies stranded a runner at second before sending Pierce back out for the seventh. The Wildcats would load the bases in the seventh with two out when '20 Trevor Johnson singled to score two runs.  The Aggies would threaten in the bottom half but ’19 RHP Daniel Jimenez (Las Vegas) would record the final out and secure the victory.  On a day filled with offense, the day belonged to Daniel Jimenez. Jimenez pitched 4.1, allowing just 3 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1.
