Crawford blazed a 6.33 laser-timed 60-yard dash in which I thought he was more controlled taking off before picking up elite, plus-plus underway speed that is both graceful and effortless. At 6-foot-2, 170-pounds, Crawford might have the most projectable frame in the 2022 class with wide shoulders and room to add 30-plus pounds in the future. The left-handed hitter has a simple approach starting with his hands held relaxed and below the back shoulder with the weight slightly on the back leg. A short stride separates the hands up and back into a power position before working uphill with intent. The hands are fast, and future strength should boost the bat speed far more, and he hit multiple balls with exit velocities of 94-97 including a loud drive off the 385-foot sign. The speed has a chance to be a game-changer, and with the physical maturation that is likely to happen sooner rather than later, Crawford will likely be followed closely by scouting departments over the next two years.
