Bucknell commit. 6-foot-5, 180-pound right-hander has a long, lean frame with room to add additional strength. Sat 85-87 from a 3/4 arm slot with a straight leg kick stack. Fastball showed short arm-side run. Two-pitch arsenal also includes a changeup at 74-77 with solid arm speed with little movement.
6/25/19
Stands 6-foot-4, 165-pounds with a lean build, very projectable. Good reads from the OF. Long and loose arm swing with advanced arm strength at 89 mph. Ball carrys well to the bag. At the plate: Open stance, short and compact, 86 mph bat speed and that number is only going to get better. Quiet hands, slight toe tap. Stays on the ball through contact. Very good looking prospect in the 2020 class in NY. Pitching - Tall, lanky build. Slender frame with room for physical strength/development. Tempo is upbeat. Have a long whippy arm type that shows lively potential. Stays composed mechanically with explosive tendecies towards the plate. Finishes slightly to glove side but is able to show control for his size. FB has loose action and downward action. Topped out at 82 mph.
2/21/18
Standing 6-foot-3, 160-pounds from a slender build that will easily add weight as a physically matures. At the plate he uses a slightly open stance, backload on the pitch striding back to even, slightly long, barrel stays on a slight incline path, repeatable and long, full extension. Exit velocity of 84 mph off of tee. Defensively, attacks the ball had on aggressive, he fields the ball in the middle of his body, uses a very active lower half moving towards his target, his arm action is short in the back but very long and fluid in front on extension, the ball flies out of his hand at 84 mph with plenty of carry on his throws, a very exciting 2020 prospect to keep a close eye on especially as the updated rankings are released next week.
2/26/17
Curry is a long and lean 2020 RHP/INF who ran a 7.57 60 and a 4.75 home-to-1B. Offensively- Sets up slightly open with bat just off back shoulder; short load of the hands as stride works it's way back to even. Direct path to the ball; line drive results when staying on the same plain as the ball, occasionally chops straight down, catching back/bottom of the ball. Line drive/flyball results with an exit velocity of 75 MPH. Lower half effort is their and as frame fills out physically, he should develop into a gap-to-gap hitter. Defensively- Upright setup, glides to the ball with long strides. Stays on the balls of his feet and has an easiness about his approach. Hands are soft and out in front; traditional infielder's arm action from a 3/4 slot. Peak velocity across the diamond was 72 MPH but there is more in the tank as he was stopping his release abruptly; demonstrated better velocity on the mound. Pitching- Works from the center of the rubber, utilizing a mid-chest leg drive to his balance point; arm action is long and loose from a high 3/4 slot. Works downhill well over a firm front side with arm extension. FB sat 73-74 MPH with some free and easy effort attached to it; showed some feel for his change at 65-66 MPH. Maintains arm speed and can thow it to both sides of the plate. CB, when right, showed 12-to-6 spike action at 57-59 MPH. Projectable on the mound as he repeats his delivery and has a frame that can support more effort and physical gains.
