Cameron Ringo RHP/MIF (Hamburg HS, 2015)

8-16-14
Ringo stands 5-foot-11 160-pounds with a frame that can hold more weight. On the mound he uses little to no knee lift, drops and drives, and has a shorter quick arm action. He throws from a high ¾ slot with shoulder tilt and clears his head to the first base side. His fastball sat 83-85 mph (up to 86-88, 7-15-14) with some downward action and plus hand speed. His curveball was 71 mph with a midway hump (11/5 shape) with signs of plus spin.

MIF/Hitting - Ringo stands 5-foot-11 160-pounds with a frame that has loads of projection. From the infield he uses plus actions, fields the ball slightly to his glove side out in front of his body, has a clean transfer from a high ¾ slot at 81 mph with carry. He moves well laterally and ran a 4.28 home to first time from the right hand batter’s box. At the plate his setup is upright, uses a back load and drops his hands, hips slightly open up early and swing is on an incline, with a high finish and exit velocity of 85 mph.

7-15-14

Ringo stands 5-foot-11 160-pounds athletic, and has room for growth. He throws from an high 3/4 arm slot with a fastball sitting 86-88 mph with hard action. His breaking ball was 66-71 and came out like his fastball, he was erratic with it releasing ball too early. Mechanically he rushes a touch and needs to finish more over front side. His arm works fast with good hand speed.

At the plate he sets up balanced and athletic. He uses a toe tap and back load before the swing. His bat path is level through the zone with his hands staying above the barrel. His exit velocity was 85 mph off a tee. From the MIF he shows a clean glove with fast transfer and an above average arm from a high 3/4 slot at 84 mph. He ran a 6.89 showing great athleticism.
