April 2018
6-foot-1 LHP gets downward plane out of ¾ slot, fastball shows late movement, effectively changes speeds to keep hitters off balance, works both sides of the plate well. Patient approach at the plate, short to the ball, makes consistent barrel contact, uses all fields with gap power, makes effective adjustments within an at-bat, above average plate coverage.
Preseason - West (February 19, 2018)
Standing 6-foot-1, 200-pounds from a solidly built frame. At the plate he uses a slightly open stance, loose hands, short to the ball with a compact swing, Barrel plane is slightly inclined with a fluid swing path, exit velocity of 86 mph (up 7 mph since last event). Defensively, he moves around the bag with an active lower half, quick clean release from a short arm action, arm strength was 68 mph, an emphasis on increased arm strength will only benefit the first baseman. The bat has a chance to play at the next level.
