Physical: Athletic, lengthy 6-foot-2, 160lb frame with advanced feel. Missouri commit ran a 6.94 60-yard dash.
Offensively: LHH - Balanced, shoulder-width start showing lots of controlled rhythm in the hands at the shoulder. Utilized a leg lift on time with a barrel tip, initiating the bat head through a connected, slightly uphill path into the hitting zone. Good early direction in the swing, spraying hard contact to all fields, hitting the ball where it was pitched. Some of the better bat to ball skills in the class flashing minimal swing/miss in game action. Posted a T91 mph bat-exit velocity (via Trackman) working his way up to a 333 foot batted ball distance to pull on his best swing with easy doubles power available.
Defensively: The primary backstop demonstrated a lower, traditional stance in the crouch using a soft glove hand that operated calmly under the ball. Pop times ranged from 1.97-2.01 with some pre-catch rhythm able to replace the feet quickly and get rid from a quick trigger (H ¾ slot) to the target (75 mph arm). Moved out to the outfield playing with good pace in either direction, using feel to create good hops in the footwork; fielded off the left side of his body, delivering with high intent from H ¾ slot (extra length, 85 mph arm, corner OF projection).

Shot the ball to the right side of the field with ease, displaying some pop in the barrel; peak Trackman exit velocity of 80 MPH. Defensively: C/OF: Tall set up in the crouch with a wide base, gives the pitcher a large target to throw to / Tall stance with narrow feet, glove side foot in front of the other; C/OF: Fast out of the crouch, stands up after receiving the pitch / Laid back steps to the ball, chops his feet to keep his weight under him. C/OF: easy hands that take the ball in quietly, good transfer / Okay hands with a good transfer to throw; C/OF: Short take back from the glove, throws from a typical catcher slot with good hand speed / Long swing with loose, snappy actions in the arm. Arm strength present through a 3/4 slot. 2.08-2.15 pop times. C - 72 MPH.OF - 81 MPH.

June 2018
Lean and athletic. Behind the plate receives ball well with quick mechanics to get down into blocking position. Quick transfer on throws to 2nd, will get faster with more strength development. Handles pitchers well and is athletic on his feet. Offensively a lefty hitter, sets up in athletic stance with quick hands through hitting zone. Upward barrel lift through the zone with potential gap to gap power in the future. Projectable offensive catcher in the future.

Posts up over back side with easy stride back to even. When the lower half is aggressive, swing path shortens. Repeats efforts; exit velocity was 71 MPH.Defensively- Behind the plate Cook sets up in a balanced secondary position; gains ground during pop step with clean transfer. High slot; throws carry some arc at 62 MPH. Until arm strength develops, using a crisp one-hop throw will cut his pop times down from 2.42-2.51 range. Overall, solid foundation to build from.
