Castillo is a 2017 graduate with a big league body. The Junior has been on the radar for the past few years as his tools speak for themselves. A premium runner with much improved arm strength and juice in the bat has peaked the attention of some major D-1 colleges and pro scouts. Against Orchard Park this week he was able to barrel the ball well a few times hitting 2 doubles in which he got to show off his next level speed. The swing is still a little raw mechanically, dropping hands slightly and tends to open up at times but with the god given hand speed and strength he makes up a lot of ground. Certainly worth watching develop over the next year as he decides on college and likely getting some serious draft looks in 2017.

Castillo looks the part of a D-1/MLB prospect as he stands a physical 6-foot-2 200+ pound frame. Multi-sport standout ran a 3.89 home to first time on a groundout this weekend from the right side. That natural speed and a much improved arm from last year make him an attractive prospect to many. His transition into the outfield looks to be a smooth one as he glides to balls effortlessly and has a chance to really show off his athletic upside.

Stands at 6-foot-2, 207 pounds, with an athletic body build.  He ran a 4.01 Home to 1^st from the right-hand side.  In the outfield, he has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft, quick hands, throws with a clean loose action, arm is very strong with lots of carry, plays through the ball nicely and has accuracy on the target.  In the infield, he has a smooth approach through the ball, with smooth, soft, quick hands, throws with a clean loose action, arm is very strong across the diamond, plays through the ball nicely, with lots of range, and has accuracy on the target.  His arm strength was 81 MPH.  At the plate his setup is relaxed and very balanced, short stride, with a smooth load.  His hands are very compact and strong, swinging on a level plane with long/full extension through the ball, with an athletic balance throughout the whole swing.  His exit velocity was 97 MPH.

Preseason All-State (February 15, 2015)

Castillo stands 6-foot-2, 185-pounds and has great size with a very projectable frame. Castillo shows an exit velocity of 91 mph and it definitely translates to the field. The rising sophomore has 'grown-man' strength/pop off the bat screaming deep-fly projection. His bat is high-level, easy athletic swing, bat drops some on the pitch, extension through the ball. He ran a 6.61 (PBR NY record) 60 yard dash - extremely athletic player oozing high-level ability. At SS to gets behind the ball, open glove face, fields out in front, quick transfer to an over-the-top throw.

Buffalo Open ID (July 2014)

Hitting -  At the plate he put on a BP display. His stance is open with weight on his back leg. He uses a stride before the swing and his bat path is pretty level through the zone. He gets great extension producing some serious power and finishes high. His exit velocity was 84 mph. Defensively - From the infield he works athletically and stays wide fielding the ball out in front of his body. He moves laterally well and has very quick, clean hands. He throws from a mid/high 3/4 slot at 70 mph. He ran a 6.89 60.
